The East Petersburg Events Committee will be hosting the Two Towers Jamboree, a free music festival in the East Petersburg Community Park, on August 4th, 2018. This is a free event that welcomes everyone to spend the evening in the park with live music.
For the past few years, this event was more commonly known as the East Pete Rocks Music Festival. Volunteer Jeff McLain explains the name change, “With the name change, we hope to show the diversity in the genre of music. The Two Towers aspect of the event’s name references the iconic two water towers East Petersburg is known for.”
Event Planner Ken Heeter has worked hard to bring a selection of diverse and unique local talent to this event. The event starts place at 5:00 pm, and features five different acts; Lost Souls Meet The Flurry Emery Band, The Moonlight Mutts, Rooster Stone, as well as Andy Hagy and Friends.
The Moonlight Mutts have been playing this event for a few years and always a favorite of the event. This original rock group is driven by their unique percussion and catchy lighthearted songs.
“I think there is something for everyone. We have acts that play everyone’s favorites, and we have acts that stick to completely original material. It’s really about enjoying some music, in the park, as we gathering with our neighbors.” explains Ken Heeter.
Those planning to attend this event should bring lawn chairs or blankets. Food vendors will be available at the event. This event is rain or shine.
The East Petersburg Events Committee is a non-profit, 100% volunteer organization that uses no taxpayer money. Their mission is to host family-friendly events that are of mutual interest to both the visitors and residents of East Petersburg; an effort to strengthen their town through fostering community involvement and spirit.
We look forward to seeing you at the Two Towers Jamboree.
